When creating a compact design brief, the goal is to convey critical requirements to the design team without cluttering the page. A thoughtfully structured one-page brief acts as a compass for the entire project. Begin by clearly stating the initiative name and the brand behind it. This immediately establishes context.

Next, define the main purpose. What are you trying to achieve? Are you aiming to grow conversions? Enhance visibility? Increase conversions? Be specific. Ambiguous targets result in unfocused outcomes.

Provide key insights of the intended users. Who’s this for? What’s their age range? What do they care about? What challenges do they face? What behaviors do they exhibit? This guides visual decisions to resonate with the right people.

Identify non-negotiable copy that must be included. These could be: taglines, value propositions, or calls to action. Don’t include every word, but highlight what’s non-negotiable.

Specify the deliverables. Do you need: a landing page, a Facebook ad, or a brochure? Leave no room for doubt. Don’t forget to add any technical constraints, such as file formats, required dimensions, or channel constraints. If brand standards exist, like palette restrictions, typefaces, or logo placement, link to the brand kit. A brief reminder such as "maintain current visual identity" can be all you need.

Set the timeline and any key milestones. Time is often the biggest constraint, so defining the timeline early helps manage expectations. If decisions need sign-off, найти дизайнера include their names.

Include a reference box for design references. A link or image of a design you like can convey tone and direction faster.

Avoid complexity. Skip the buzzwords. Every line should serve a purpose. If something doesn’t help the designer understand the goal or constraints, delete it. A one-page brief isn’t about filling space, it’s about providing a solid launchpad for creativity.

Run it by stakeholders before sending it out. Does it answer the questions? What? If yes, you have a solid foundation for success.
