A cruise holiday is usually a chance to let your hair down and unwind. 

But holidaymakers will need to stick to some rules while they do so. 

According to one cruise expert, there are a few etiquette errors that could land you in hot water with your fellow cruise passengers. 

Writing for World of Cruising, Gillian Carmoodie reveals that singing karaoke in your room is a big no-no. 

She explains that the walls on cruise ships 'aren't as soundproof as you'd hope' and 다낭가라라오케 that neighbours might be able to hear far more than you'd think. 

The cruise expert says: 'Blasting loud music, talking with obnoxiously-high frequencies, making loud noises on the balcony, turning the TV up to deafening levels, or hosting impromptu karaoke sessions will be heard by your neighbours.' 

As tempting as it might be to throw open your balcony door and practice your best rendition of A-ha's Take On Me, it's best to save it for the ship's karaoke night. 

Gillian adds: 'Keep it courteous, especially at night. You may have had a blast at the disco, or sampled every cocktail available, but others wish to listen to the ocean.'

And impromptu karaoke sessions aren't the only way to upset your fellow holidaymakers on a cruise ship. 

A cruise expert told MailOnline Travel that hogging a sunlounger is a major no-no that will annoy the crew as well as fellow guests. 

Behaving badly at the buffet is another major etiquette fail with one passenger taking to Reddit to slam their fellow guests as 'inconsiderate' for taking too much food. 

The guest said they were fed up of people filling their plates to 'maximum capacity', eating a 'few bites' and 'leaving the rest'.
